She passed away on 24 August, due to the illness that affected her, but she was not discouraged from presiding over our frequent meetings, even if it was with a lilt in her voice.

Expressions of condolence come from the scientific and academic communities that enjoyed Laura's competent, wise and effective collaboration and leadership.

From the University of Milan where she was Director of the Physics Department and a member of the Board of Directors, to the ATLAS collaboration at CERN where she worked as a scientist, to the many European collaborations, most recently in the field of open science and the European Open Science Cloud.

Laura was a member of the Italian delegation to the EOSC Steering Board and represented consistency with the mission of ICDI, Italy's mandated member of the EOSC Association.

We will remember her, beyond the sadness of the moment, as a kind and decisive force for the consolidation of ICDI.
